Christmas Break

A few years back we deicided to start opening presents a few days early so that it wouldn't be so overwhelming & they could actually enjoy what they got. It's about a 5 day process.

1st Timers

So there are many things I never did as a child. I never carved pumpkins, I never believed in Santa Claus & I never decorated gingerbread houses. Luckily, I have 3 sweet little boys that I get to live through vicariously.
Here are the artistic works of:
Combi, Ja-Ja & K.B
Enjoy! I know I did.

Christmas Came Early

Imagine me at Legoland & Culligula says, "Get the video camera & film the kids!"
"Oh, what for?" I reply, hoping he doesn't see through my embarrassment.
"Just get it!"
"You do it!"
I'm sure this has been a real conversation numerous times. It's not that I didn't want to video tape our sweet boys but it had more to do with our camera.
See, we bought this the year Ja-Ja was born (2001). It's not too old but it's more like 30yrs old in technology years. Just when you think you have the latest piece of technology, they come out with something better & flashier. (Jerks!)
Alright so what's my point with all of this? Well I didn't want to use my 8mm camcorder cause it's considered a behemoth these days. You know, like when your parents had that giant video camera that used VHS tapes & the rest of the world was using 8mm. It's kind of like that. Lame, I know.

Anyway, after complaining about our ginormous camera long enough, my sweet husband surprised me with an early Christmas gift. A new video camera. No 8mm tapes in this bad boy. So to make up for all my whining, I'm suppose to record every second of our lives & transfer all our 8mm to DVD. Yeah, I probably should've kept my mouth shut.

My Favorite Mother's Day Gift From Ja-Ja

My sweet little Ja-Ja came home from school today so excited about my Mother's Day gift. He spent the whole day asking if I wanted it yet. I kept telling him it was ok if I waited until Sunday but he was just too excited. So before bed, he pulled out this nicely wrapped gift (that he had hidden under his bed) & told me I could open it ONLY if I wanted to. The look on his face was enough to let me know that he REALLY wanted me to open it.
The gift was wrapped in pink tissue & on it was written "I Love You" with 2 hearts & a flower.
In it was a little booklet his teacher made. Each page had a sentence & the response of each student. So this is what he had to say about me.

My mom looks prettiest when... she goes out to eat
If my mom could do anything she wanted, she would... stay up late, really late
My mom's favorite dinner is... Taco Bell
I love my Mom because... she lets friends come over to my house

Now I have to mention that Ja-Ja's very good friend who comes over to play quite a bit loves his mom because she let's me go to a friends house. I wonder if they were sitting next to each other when the question was asked?
As for Taco Bell, I did frequent it quite often when I was pregnant with Jaycon Jones. Excuse me for having a craving!
The best part of this gift was watching his tense little face as I read his answers, hoping that he had answered everything correctly.

Ja-Ja,
Thank you. You did a great job answering those questions. I want you to know that these last few days I've seen a huge change in you. You've become this mature little dude who's always willing to help, doesn't complain & is always polite. I'm not sure where all this came from but I like it. You're probably tired of me telling you how amazing you've been but I'm just really impressed. Thank you for all that you do & for the wonderful example you are to our family. You rock!

HAAAPPY EASTER Mr. Easter Bunny!

All day I've thought & slightly obsessed about what magnificent things I would write today. To my surprise it's my 2nd entry & I'm already suffering from writer's block. I knew this would be a bad idea.
Since I did not hit the pillow until 3:30am this morning, my plans for an Easter breakfast went out the window. Dang you blogger for taking over my life!(fists in air) I desperately wanted to do my usual sleep 'til 11am but I was actually pretty excited to be up. I had planned a scavenger hunt for the boys instead of doing Easter baskets. It was a success I must say! At every station there was a clue, an egg filled with candy for each of them & also some sort of craft item. At the end awaiting them were scooters. Big hit! Later that evening, Culligula's family joined us for an egg hunt & dinner. All in all a great day.

IN THE MOOD FOR...
